The wellbeing of Enable’s customers and staff is always our top priority.
We’ve been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely - here in Christchurch, across New Zealand as well as worldwide. Although there is currently no community transmission of COVID-19 in Christchurch, it has been detected in Auckland. The pandemic continues to surge across the globe with many countries and regions experiencing a second wave through cluster cases, reminding us that we still have a long way to go before the return to pre-COVID life.
Cases have been reported in Auckland, as well as in Christchurch in managed isolation facilities, and we’re therefore taking every step to ensure the safety of our people and our community. The emergence of COVID-19 has created a new work health and safety risk that we need to manage.
Screening our customers via phone for COVID-19 cases or symptoms prior to their appointment ensures our technicians are informed of any risks and can manage the situation appropriately – such as ensuring the unwell or high risk person self-isolates in another room while they complete their work.
Their decision to put their health, and that of our community, first is one that we stand by.
Please call us if anyone in your home is unwell
If anyone in your home is at particular risk or is unwell leading up to your appointment (especially if they are suspected of having COVID-19), it is important that you call us so we can manage the situation appropriately.
If an appointment requires rescheduling due to an illness, we will do our best to reschedule it for two days' time. This provides our technician with adequate time to put together a risk management plan to ensure it's safe for them to enter your premise - this includes equipping themselves with the necessary personal protective equipment, as well as asking the unwell person to self-isolate in another room for the duration of the appointment.
To avoid the disappointment of a last minute reschedule, please contact us if anyone in your home or business is unwell (especially if they are suspected of having COVID-19 or the flu).
